Position Overview:
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Government Sector Sales Executive maintains and expands relationships with strategically important customers. The individual is primarily responsible for achieving the sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives. The Sales Executive represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company.
The individual will act as the primary liaison and solutions consultant between iTi and its potential and existing customers. The Sales Executive develops and maintains quality relationships that enable aggressive growth. Utilizing innovative thinking, passion for customer service, relationship building skills, and is also responsible for identifying and leading customers smoothly through the solutions cycle to a successful close.
We are seeking a highly motivated Government Sector Sales Executive to join our team. This position will be focused on managing the end-to-end RFP (Request for Proposal) and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes in the government sector, including federal and state agencies, intelligence agencies, Department of Defense (DoD), and military entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in proposal management, project management, technical writing, client relations, and negotiation. This role requires a combination of technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills to navigate complex government procurement processes effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. RFP/RFQ Management
- Lead RFP/RFQ Process: Oversee the complete lifecycle of the RFP and RFQ processes, from initial engagement through to final submission.
- Government Sector Focus: Manage proposals for government contracts, including federal, state, military, and intelligence agencies.
- Vendor Coordination: Identify, evaluate, and manage external vendors involved in the proposal process to ensure alignment and compliance.
2. Proposal Writing and Customization
- Proposal Development: Write clear, concise, and persuasive proposals and quotations tailored to each client’s specific needs.
- Technical and Business Writing: Translate technical specifications into compelling, easy-to-understand content for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure proposals meet all legal and regulatory requirements, addressing client needs and highlighting iTi’s value proposition.
3. Attention to Detail and Compliance
- Accuracy: Ensure proposals and quotations are precise, including pricing, timelines, deliverables, and legal terms.
- Regulatory Alignment: Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations, including confidentiality, contract law, and intellectual property protections.
4. Project Management
- Timeline Coordination: Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring all deadlines for proposal submissions are met.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including senior management and operations, to deliver high-quality, on-time proposals.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks within the RFP/RFQ process and implement strategies to mitigate them.
5. Analytical Skills and Market Research
- Cost Estimation: Analyze client requirements and market trends to develop competitive yet profitable pricing models.
- Competitor Analysis: Conduct research on competitors’ offerings and pricing strategies to position iTi’s proposal effectively.
6. Negotiation and Stakeholder Management
- Pricing Negotiation: Engage in pricing negotiations with clients and contracting officers to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
- Contract Terms Negotiation: Lead discussions around contract terms to protect iTi’s interests while meeting client needs.
- Client Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with government contracting officers and other key stakeholders.
7. Post-Submission and Award Management
- Follow-Up: Proactively follow up with clients after proposal submission to address inquiries and ensure ongoing engagement.
- Contract Administration: Manage the post-award process, ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract and addressing any issues that arise.
- Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback post-submission to refine proposal strategies and improve future proposals.
8. Software Proficiency and Tools
- Proposal Management Tools: Utilize RFP/RFQ management and automation tools (e.g., RFPIO, Proposify, Qvidian) to streamline the proposal process.
- Project Management Tools: Use software like Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project to manage tasks, timelines, and team collaboration.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for document preparation, data analysis, and presentation.
9. Time Management and Multi-tasking
- Multitasking: Manage multiple RFP/RFQ responses simultaneously while prioritizing tasks based on deadlines and complexity.
- Adaptability: Adjust quickly to changing client needs or shifting priorities while maintaining focus on project goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven track record in managing the full RFP/RFQ process, specifically within the government sector (federal, state, DoD, military, etc.).
- Experience in proposal writing, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of government contracting regulations and compliance requirements.

- Strong technical and business writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Advanced analytical skills to assess client needs, pricing models, and competitor strategies.
- Exceptional project management skills, with experience coordinating cross -functional teams and managing multiple deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities, both in pricing discussions and contract terms.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and clients at all levels.
* Technical Proficiency:
- Experience with proposal management and document automation tools (RFPIO, Proposify, Qvidian, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with project management software (Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project). Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field.
