As Senior Compliance, you will be responsible for aiding in the risk oversight and contribute to promoting a risk management and compliance culture across the Credit Union. Accountable for assisting with implementing and executing the compliance program to ensure the Credit Union complies with all applicable State and Federal Laws, Rules, Regulations and Regulatory guidelines. Continue studying state and federal laws related to the finance industry and ensure that the Credit Union conducts business according to new regulations that arise and maintain advanced knowledge in compliance, the credit union's operations, and various operating systems. You will provide coaching and support to junior level compliance staff, function as first point of contact for junior compliance staff regarding procedural questions, providing clarification on laws, regulations, or guidelines, and assisting with complex/escalated interactions. Assures high level of member service is provided by team.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Aid in the risk oversight and promoting a risk management and compliance culture across the credit union. Accountable for assisting with implementing and executing the compliance program to ensure the credit union complies with all applicable State and Federal Laws, Rules, Regulations and Regulatory guidelines. Execute compliance strategies and assisting in the implementation, administration, and maintenance of all aspects of the credit union’s compliance program. Provide ongoing assessments of regulatory risks posed to the credit union and its business strategies. Assists in establishing risk assessments, policies, procedures, controls, and action plans to manage any regulatory risks. Responsible for investigating escalated or complex cases, monitoring for credit union and industry trends, identifying emerging risks and advising and reporting to management on a consistent basis. Advises compliance leadership of emerging compliance issues and consults and guides the credit union in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks. Maintains a thorough understanding of current on state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and regulatory guidelines affecting the financial services industry. Performs regulatory compliance research, analysis, and interpretation. Consults with legal counsel, regulatory agencies and credit union trade associations as needed. Develop, coordinate, and facilitate training programs, sessions, and seminars to educate credit union personnel about compliance requirements and procedures. Conduct related training for various levels of new and existing staff to include, but not limited to, senior management, and volunteers on an ongoing basis.
- Leads or assists with organizational or departmental projects, as assigned. Collaborates with teams and participates in new product/service, branch and project development, providing guidance, solutions, and feedback of how compliance may impact the scope. Works with examiners, external or internal auditors and business units during audits or examinations to ensure that compliance and fraud related issues are adequately addressed. Monitors corrective action of any deficiencies identified.
- Performs internal compliance reviews and testing activities in accordance with the approved schedule and procedures; identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risks; collaborates with teams, provides guidance and escalates concerns to ensure timely response and remediation. Prepares reports of findings for management to review and respond. Presents findings and responses to ERM senior leadership for review and consideration prior to further reporting to management. Performs marketing compliance reviews.
- Assists compliance leadership in the interviewing and hiring process to include sitting in interviews with new candidates and providing valuable feedback when needed. Identify training needs of new and current junior level staff. Assists with planning, assigning, and directing work for junior level staff. Provide junior level performance feedback to compliance leadership on a monthly basis as well as during annual performance reviews. Assist with the content, coordination, and conducting team meetings.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience
8 years’ experience in risk management or compliance within the financial industry.
Education / Certifications / Licenses
This level of knowledge is acquired through completion of a required Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or related field. A CRCM Certification or comparable certification is also required. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
