- Responsible for designing, administering, and maintaining the security architecture of the organization's network. This includes implementing new security protocols to improve performance against threats or malfunctions.
- Ensure that computer networks operate seamlessly and adapting organizational network security to suit the company's changing capacity. This involves reducing downtime and disruptions while ensuring all systems and computers run successfully.
- Conduct simulated cyberattacks and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in the network. They analyze threat patterns and possibilities for security breaches to develop effective security protocols.
- Identify and mitigate threats, including malware, viruses, and other cyberattacks. Monitor networks for suspicious activity and implement preventive protocols to handle cyberattacks.
- Oversee firewalls, routers, virtual private networks (VPNs), and other security tools to protect the network from internal and external threats.
- Maintain server, LAN, and WAN architecture, and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policy. Document infrastructure and report on security findings.
- Train coworkers and leaders on threats and protection protocols and ensuring that users and their devices contribute to network security.
- Keep up to date with the latest information security trends, threats, and technologies to continually improve network security.
- Design, integrate, and manage programs to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in OT systems.
- Define and publish strategic plans for OT vulnerability management, aligning with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Determine the criticality of each OT asset to prioritize vulnerability management efforts.
- Evaluate potential cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities to prioritize remediation efforts.
- Classify and prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk and potential impact on the organization.
- Ensure swift remediation of identified vulnerabilities, which may involve installing security patches, modifying configurations, or implementing other mitigation controls.
- Regularly monitor and report on compliance with related policies and standards, proposing changes as necessary to ensure operating efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders, including OT engineers, IT security professionals, and business leaders, to ensure a comprehensive approach to OT vulnerability management.
- Offer consultation and analytical support for vulnerabilities to internal teams and prepare and present reports documenting vulnerability trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure that resources are appropriately trained, tasked, and delivering against milestones, and manage the financial and administrative responsibilities of the unit.
- Regularly review and update the OT vulnerability management program to stay ahead of new threats and vulnerabilities, leveraging automated tools and best practices.
