What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content Specialist position at Intersection?
The Content Specialist guides and develops great content for your clients, working directly with the client and creative teams. You will create content ranging from social media, web content, blogs, emails, and more.
You have a desire to make great things happen for other people. You are highly creative and enjoy researching consumer and content trends to deliver rich, engaging content. Under the direction of the Managing Director, you will align your efforts to client business and marketing goals.
- Create high-quality and differentiated copy in the form of social media, emails, blogs, web copy, headlines, and more.
- Work within a cross-functional team to ideate and contribute to the editorial calendar for your clients by conceiving engaging content.
- Manage content calendars and ensure the content remains consistent across all platforms.
- Conduct interviews with subject matter experts.
- Publish content on various digital platforms such as social media, blogs, websites, and email.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects within time and budget restrictions.
- Proofread and edit content before publishing.
- Practice your craft and build your brand by contributing to Intersection’s marketing activities.
- Make great things happen for other people.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong work ethic with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to research topics and include references and citations.
- Demonstrated ability to write in Chicago or AP styles as needed.
- Meticulous approach to grammar, spelling, blog structure, and providing the highest-quality, cleanest, most concise copy possible.
- Good knowledge of content platforms such as social media, blogs, websites, and email.
- Desire to learn and keep up with inbound and digital marketing best practices.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree required; major or significant coursework in journalism, English, marketing, communications, or related disciplines highly preferred.
- Experience in social media or search engine optimization (SEO) practices is highly preferred.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
