Overview
Intersport is an award-winning agency with more than three decades of experience filling the empty space between marketing campaigns and consumers – helping brands make more meaningful connections. Our industry leading team includes 200 team members supporting 50 clients with services spanning content production, experiential and event marketing, hospitality, partnership consulting, creative, social and digital marketing, and platform development. We also own and operate event properties across the professional and collegiate sports landscape, including basketball, football, golf, pickleball and volleyball.
Intersport Golf’s portfolio includes the most successful first year event in PGA TOUR history, the Rocket Classic; creator of THE JOHN SHIPPEN, the first Black men’s and women’s professional invitational that awards exemptions into PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour events; founder / owner of a white glove hospitality facility called The Double Eagle Club in Augusta, GA; creator / operator of the World Champions Cup, the first global team event for the most elite players on the PGA TOUR Champions; and is the lead operator and producer of the highly coveted, NCAA Division 1 event, the Jackson T. Stephens Cup.
Intersport is the official management firm of the Jackson T. Stephens Cup on behalf of our client, Stephens, Inc. The Jackson T. Stephens Cup is an annual collegiate golf tournament named in memory of the late Augusta National Chairman, Jack Stephens, that debuted in 2021. The tournament features NCAA Division 1 National Championship contending men’s and women’s teams along with individual competitors from Historically Black Colleges & Universities and U.S. Military Service Academies. This event has been played at prestigious courses such as Alotian Club (2021), Seminole Golf Club (2022), and Trinity Forest Golf Club (2023), and will be played at Shoreacres in 2025.
In support of this event, as well as others within Intersport Golf’s portfolio, Intersport is seeking to add an experienced Media & Marketing Manager to the team. The Manager is primarily responsible for operating the day-to-day responsibilities of developing and executing marketing and promotional plans, as well as PR initiatives, to ensure a successful event by meeting objectives set by Tournament Leadership. They will also be provided with the opportunity to collaborate across all business units of the event, including Special Events, Tournament Services, Ticketing, Marketing, Business Affairs and Sales / Client Services.

Strategy & Brand
Responsible for creating and executing the overall brand identity for the at both local and national levelsResponsible for the overall marketing and paid media strategyCollaborate and co-lead the ticketing sales strategyEngage with and work closely with the client to execute a media day to showcase the tournamentResponsible for managing and creating programming for "Jack's Day" which is a youth clinic that celebrates the legacy of Jack StephensDigital Marketing and Social Media
Collaborate with the client to build digital marketing assets with tournament related content and messaging, including but not limited to MailChimp email newsletters, website, sales and marketing materials while ensuring that all messaging is updated and accurateWork with sales team to integrate brand partners digitally and sociallyBuild and lead an annual content calendar, with a focus on social mediaDetermine on-site social media plans to enhance fan experience and oversee digital and on-site activationsCoordinate strategy behind Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube and stays current with emerging platforms and other social applications. Work alongside the Content Coordinator to ensure that they properly execute overall brand strategy across all channels and meet all objectives.Ensure social properties are opportunistic and participating / answering / interacting within 24 hours to messages, mentions, comments, and questions, to help grow our brand and engaging with fansMonitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs; provides analysis, reviews and reports on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results and demonstrate best practicesMarketing & Promotion
Coordinate all aspects of media buying campaigns, including broadcast, print and out of homeOversee all information on Tournament web site and other digital channels to ensure that brand messaging remains up to dateCreate and manage a marketing framework that details an annual marketing promotion plan, including brand messaging, partnership opportunities and moreCollaborate with internal and external brand stakeholders to build creative assets and implement marketing and promotional assets to meet required deadlinesPublic Relations
Source and manage outside PR agencies / contractorsIdeate and create unique and creative earned media opportunities throughout the yearCoordinate reviews and approvals of all news releases with title and founding partnersBe responsible for drafting and leading all tournament key messaging that will be included in press releases, talking points and other key assetsIn conjunction with Tournament staff and outside PR agency, plan and implement core storytelling opportunities specifically for media including events like Media Day and Trophy PresentationsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferredMinimum of five (5) years’ work experienceExperience in developing marketing and promotional plansExceptional verbal and written communication / presentation skillsExperience in developing unique, creative social media campaignsSelf-Starter – quick to absorb, analyze and confidently act on large amounts of informationDetail-Oriented – highly organized and flexibleEffective Communicator – able to present ideas clearly and with convictionProfessionalism – interact professionally with various audiences and peopleProven effectiveness in managing a complex organizational system and a vast assortment of constituencies and personnelProactive with a strong work ethic and the highest degree of ethical and professional conductFlexibility, punctuality, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to work in multiple environments (in the office and on the golf course)Some travel requiredAbility to work long hours, weekends, evenings, and holidaysKnowledge of Adobe Suite, Photoshop, WordPress, Wix, MailChimp preferredUnderstanding, passion and respect for the game of golfFrom two (2) months out, up to the week of the tournament, working conditions become fast-paced, stressful and long hours will be required. Full availability during Advance Week and Tournament Week is required by all staff members. These dates will fluctuate as / if the tournament dates fluctuate.
