The Association of Pickleball Players | The APP Tour (APP) is dedicated to providing the best pickleball tournament experience for all. The APP, majority owned by Intersport, was founded in 2019 and serves professionals, senior professionals, and amateurs in the fastest growing sport in the country. The first and only tour officially sanctioned by USA Pickleball, the 2025 APP Tour slate boasts 24 tournament stops, in addition to Signature, International, and Collegiate Series events. The APP also prides itself on developing the next generation of champions through its Next Gen Series and other youth initiatives. Intersport and the APP are seeking to add a smart and driven, entry-level video production professional to its Media Production team. The Media Production team is integral to developing and executing a wide range of visual mediums for new and existing clients, networks, and digital distribution outlets, including live television broadcasts, live-to-tape television specials, documentaries, episodic series, commercial production, virtual events and branded content. The Trainee must have demonstrable interest, and ideally experience in, hands-on production-related experiences including shooting, producing, directing and/or editing by way of internships, school projects, personal passion projects, freelance opportunities, or anything similar. The Trainee is expected to have a demonstrated interest and passion for video production, an understanding of new and emerging media and a desire to create innovative work.
Additionally, on behalf of the APP, the Trainee would assume a range of social media-related responsibilities, including developing content/posts and providing community management. The position requires someone with an aptitude for social media; any aptitude for graphic design and/or knowledge of/interest in pickleball is a plus.
The Trainee program is the means for entry-level hiring for Intersport. A Trainee position is full-time, with salary and benefits, and covers a period of six months. At the conclusion of the six-month period, a Trainee is hired on to a permanent position based on a number of factors: their performance as a Trainee, Intersport’s company performance, and macroeconomic conditions. A Trainee position is by definition a training position – one in which they will be taught while doing real work. A Trainee must make a discernable impact and prove themselves; it is not in any way an internship position. The Trainee program is competitive by design and its purpose is hire the very best entry-level talent and grow that talent into a permanent team member of increasing responsibility and career advancement over time.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is $43,900. If, after the six-month Trainee period the Trainee is converted to a permanent employee, the title is adjusted to Production Assistant and the salary is adjusted to $46,000.
This position includes medical, dental, vision, parental leave benefits and 401(k) with company match for qualified employees. This position does not include bonuses, commissions, or other incentives.

Creative Production & Asset Creation
- Collaborate with Media Production and Creative teams on research and development surrounding new and existing opportunities

Social Media Management
- Approach all work with brand and business objectives in-mind and exemplify the APP’s tone and voice in all posts and community interactions
- Actively contribute in brainstorming and idea generation sessions with cross-functional teams
- Craft copy, create, and produce graphic content for social posts, in collaboration with manager
- Assist in production and content creation for APP platforms; planning content, leading coverage, breaking news, highlights, etc.
- Work with internal Creative team to produce necessary graphic assets and creative elements
Community Management
- Manage workflow for community management and proactively and promptly flags and escalates issues as needed, both those of concern and those to recognize positive developments
- Track and report consumer engagement, sentiment and other metrics across social channels and use data to inform perspective and ensuing recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred as well as real-world experience in the form of internships, school projects, freelance opportunities or similar
- Ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, inclusive of a detail oriented and organized approach
- Application of superior prioritization and time-management skills and ability to produce high quality work at a fast pace
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills with a polished, professional demeanor that projects confidence and enthusiasm for the business
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Excel
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Avid Editing Systems a plus
- Ability to work odd hours and travel for business as needed, including nights, weekends and holidays from time to time
- Note that select candidates will need to complete an assignment that demonstrates their aptitude for the role
