What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver position at Interstate Batteries of Central Louisiana?
Purpose of Job
Interstate Batteries is looking for a warehouse associate who will ultimately become a route delivery driver upon completion of training.
Warehouse Associate Responsibilities:
- Load and unload batteries
- Restock batteries
- Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations
- Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries
- Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment
- Accurately complete reports and claims
- Operate a forklift
- Install batteries in customer’s vehicles
- Deliver hot shot orders
Route Delivery Driver Responsibilities:
- Deliver batteries to Interstate Batteries' authorized dealers in our 14 parish territory
- Drive a 6-bay route delivery truck (chauffeur's license will be required prior to driving)
- Provide customer service to dealers
- Use handheld computer to create tickets
- Manual-labor-intensive role includes repeated lifting of heavy batteries
- A chauffeur's license is not required to apply for the position but must be obtained before assuming the role of route delivery driver
Qualifications/Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 25 years old with clean driving record (no DUIs or at-fault accidents)
- Heavy lifting (50 pounds)
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Pass a drug test
Hiring Requirements:
Background check, reference check, driving record check and pre-employment drug screening will be performed.

Pay: $600.00 - $800.00 per week
