Route Manager/Driver

Class B CDL Position Route Manager

Interstate Batteries is seeking a Full-Time Route Manager (CDL Required) to join our team. Position will be Monday-Friday, one overnight route per week, and will include some overtime. The primary responsibility will be to consistently service and aggressively expand an assigned set of customers along a predetermined route.

Job Components of the Route Manager

● Verify customer inventory and sell new batteries● Invoice all units that fail to last the full warranty period● Rotation of product in the field● A/R responsibilities and collecting money in the field● Maintain the route by keeping displays clean, organized, and keeping dealer list up to date

● Service each dealer on a regular and timely schedule● Set up and maintain new accounts● Establish, build, and maintain good dealer relationships● Complete documentation on a timely basis● Process invoices on a handheld computer

Qualifications of the Route Manager

● Previous sales experience preferred but not required● Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills● Basic computer skills● Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (drivers abstract required)● Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement required● Pre-employment drug screening required● Uses frequent independent judgment when making decisions● Be able to work and complete tasks independently● Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a repetitive basis● Driving a route truck daily● Must be able to drive a forklift and operate pallet jacks both manual and electric

(certification training available)

● Steel/composite toe shoes when handling batteries (recommended)● Must wear safety glasses at all times in the warehouse (provided)● Must wear protective gloves when handling spent batteries (provided)● May be exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
