What are the responsibilities and job description for the Route Sales Manager/ Parts Delivery position at Interstate Batteries?
Interstate Batteries is recruiting new team members for a full-time route sales/parts delivery position to customers within a 50-mile radius of Rockford, IL. Primary purpose of the job is to consistently service and aggressively expand an assigned set of customers along a predetermined route.
We will fully train and phase into full time route deliveries. Between routes, duties may also include on-demand hotshot deliveries, hands-on warehouse activities such as breaking down and storing pallets of automotive and commercial size battery shipments, inventory maintenance and cleaning, product testing and support of counter sales staff.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Current Class C license or higher and a clean driving record.
Must be able to work independently following established company procedures and able lift 50 pounds repetitively.
Must have good math and communication skills (Mandatory aptitude test given at in-person interview)
Must be punctual and reliable - tardiness and repeatedly calling off will not be tolerated.
Must be team oriented and continually demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn all aspects of the job and be ready to assist others as needed.
Because of the inherent danger of lead-acid battery charging and testing, smoking and vaping are not allowed while on duty in our building, on our property or in our company vehicles.
