Interstate Window & Door Company is a leading manufacturer of vinyl and composite windows and doors in the US. Our manufacturing operations are based in Pittston PA and we employ approximately 140 Associates. We are seeking a supervisor to oversee one of our five primary production areas.

Interstate currently operates on a Monday to Friday schedule. Production Associates are scheduled Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2 : 30 PM. Overtime is required as necessary and may include Saturdays during peak periods of production. Supervisors will be expected to work the scheduled hours and generally work slightly longer hours to accommodate indirect production and company-related needs.

Essential Functions of a Successful Supervisor :

• Provides leadership, direction and oversight to the Production Team to ensure company objectives are attained regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Assigns work assignments to the Operators and Production Associates.
• Ensures plant safety procedures are followed in order to promote personal safety and the safety of others.
• Oversees and assists in set-ups and start-ups of production equipment on a daily basis.
• Practices strong engagement with direct reports and team members including accepting diversity of ideas and thoughts, sharing responsibility for success, demonstrating honesty and integrity and showing respect to all staff.
• Communicates daily issues and pertinent information downstream to Production Associates, across to other production areas and upstream to management.
• Provides training to Operators and Production Associates as needed.
• Troubleshoots machines for problems and makes proper adjustments.
• Ensures window and door components are processed in accordance with order specifications and company standards.
• Ensures machines are running efficiently and optimizing raw material to minimize waste.
• Ensures operators maintain and observe dimensional tolerances, warp, color appearance and all identified physical quality parameters.
• Monitors the quality of the products, performs hourly audits and follows process standards.
• Ensures machinery setup is correct, equipment is operating safely and efficiently and machine guarding is in place.
• Identifies maintenance requirements and works with maintenance to repair equipment as required.
• Completes all necessary production paperwork.
• Develops and ensures production schedule is followed and executed complete and on time.
• Ensures housekeeping duties are performed on the plant floor.
• Understands, supports and follows all company policies, practices and procedures.
• Works with our Management team to develop process improvement opportunities.
• Performs other assignments as necessary or as directed.
