We are seeking a Maintenance / Refrigeration technician for our Columbus, Ohio location. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working individual able to perform routine work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings and equipment and have experience in Ammonia Refrigeration.
This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and addresses basic repairs and maintenance including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks and ammonia refrigeration needs.
- Addresses maintenance related incidents (e.g., spills).
- Estimates repair costs
- Orders parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtains them from storerooms.
- Records maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work.
- Performs work according to standard procedure.
- Ensures work areas are cleaned.
Requirements
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher level staff.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
- Provides leadership, coaching and / or mentoring to a subordinate group.
- May act as a lead or first level supervisor.
- High school diploma required.
- 4-6 years of maintenance experience.
- Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Level 1, 2, & / or 3.
- Ability to communicate and comply with PSM / RMP requirements.
Competencies
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift / move heavy objects.
