What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Management and Inventory Specialist position at Interstate Fire Protection?
Interstate Fire Protection is a rapidly growing fire detection and suppression industry leader in the New England area. We are actively seeking an individual to play a vital role within our supply chain and logistics team. The right candidate will be able to implement an inventory tracking, replenishment, and parts ordering process. This person will be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory count, proper stocking levels of shelf parts based on analytical usage data and strategic purchasing for stock and projects at both our physical location in Concord, NH and Gardiner, ME. A company vehicle will be provided for this role. This person will place orders for stock and projects, receive shipments and put them away and/or staging them for our field technicians and project managers. Your active communication skills will be what allows you to be the most successful in this role with the support of the other members of our team.
What you will do;
· Inventory the product on shelves and complete daily spot check counts
· Manage supplies and stocking levels for inventory parts
· Order shelf stock parts and projects materials
· Receive and reconcile shipments when delivered
· Stage projects and notify project owners when materials are ready
· Provide status updates on materials to job/project owners
· Receive and fulfill material requests from field technicians
· Maintain an accurate inventory both physically and within our inventory system
· Maintain relationships with our existing vendor base while leveraging vendors to get the most value for our company spend
· Find and foster new vendor relationships
Key highlights of the right candidate;
· Experience with creating and maintaining a trackable inventory process
· Experience with ordering, receiving, stocking and staging parts
· 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role (inventory, warehousing, procurement)
· Experience with pulling parts orders of varying sizes for field tech.’s and projects
· Computer savvy, experience with MS suite of software
o Experience with Service Trade programs a plus but not required
· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate needs and issues to the management team
· Willingness to commute to our offices in Concord, NH and Gardiner, ME
· Ability to lift 75lbs, bend, twist, and stand for long periods of time
