Position Overview
State Fire is seeking a Fire Alarm Helper to learn and help execute fire alarm jobs in the growing Salt Lake City, UT market and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for individuals who are self-motivated, organized, and skilled in the low-voltage field. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively while delivering high-quality work that exceeds customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarms systems.
- Maintain daily safety documentation, including Field Level Risk Assessments, pre-operational vehicle inspections, and pre-work job site safety inspections.
- Perform maintenance service calls as needed.
- Respond to and assess emergency service or warranty calls.
- Travel to other states as workload demands.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and productive work environment for all construction and service jobs.
- Assist in the work of team members and subcontractors to complete projects and service calls on time and within budget.
- Maintain professional relationships with project managers, property managers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the low-voltage field (fire alarm experience preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete necessary documentation for all jobs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers, colleagues, and subcontractors.
- Proficiency with hand tools and trade-specific tools and equipment.
- Highly organized, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, or stoop for extended periods.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles.
- Comfort working on ladders, scaffolding, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and transport objects up to 70 pounds safely.
- Willingness to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
