State Fire, a leader in the fire protection industry, is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet of approximately 300 vehicles. This full-time role is critical in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of our fleet across multiple states. This is an in-office position at our corporate office in South Salt Lake.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage fleet maintenance and repairs, ensuring all vehicles remain safe and operational.
- Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and coordinate service and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, including inspections, record-keeping, and driver safety requirements.
- Assist with accident investigations, insurance claims, and risk management strategies.
- Implement and manage GPS tracking and fleet camera systems to enhance monitoring and safety.
- Develop and enforce preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Maintain accurate records of fleet expenses, fuel usage, and repairs.
- Collaborate with operations and safety teams to align fleet policies with company and regulatory standards.
- Analyze fleet data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
- Train drivers and staff on fleet policies, safety protocols, and vehicle use.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet compliance.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and service costs.
- Ability to coordinate fleet operations across multiple locations and states.
- Familiarity with GPS tracking and fleet camera technology preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze fleet data and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Experience with accident investigations and insurance claims is a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based Fleet Management Information Systems (FMIS) preferred.
