Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pressman to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in printing processes and sheetfed offset printing techniques. As a Pressman, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining printing presses, ensuring high-quality output that meets client specifications. Your expertise in color management, quality control, and layout design will be essential to producing exceptional printed materials. Pay can be discussed based upon experience. Must be willing to train on 1st shift.
Responsibilities
- Operate an Akiyama 28" or 40" sheetfed offset press
- Set up press runs by preparing inks, adjusting settings, and ensuring proper alignment.
- Monitor the printing process to maintain quality standards and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure color accuracy and print fidelity.
- Collaborate with the sales representative or prepress team to understand project requirements and execute layout designs effectively.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in printing technology to enhance production efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pressman or in a similar role within the printing industry.
- Strong understanding of typography, color management, and printing principles.
- Familiarity with machining processes related to press operation is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
