Experienced Prepress - Production Artist

As a prepress production artist, you will review electronic files that are received from clients and check them for correctness and accuracy in advance of the film making or printing process. You will work directly with CSRs, customers, and production personnel as necessary to sort out all details and aspects of the job.

Training: Training will be provided on the job, but prior experience is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review electronic files that are received from clients and check them for thoroughness and completeness
• Read job tickets
• Generate proofs (PDF, Epson, or Preproduction) suitable for approval for both internal and external customers
• Preflight and prepare files for print
• You will work with the printers to make adjustments in the files as needed
• This position is not a design position, but you will back up the design team on overflow work

Qualifications/Skills:

• Must be PC and Mac proficient with detailed knowledge of Adobe CS including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop & Adobe Acrobat.
• Degree in Graphic Design preferred.
• 3-5 Years professional experience.
• Graphic Design Skills.
• Must be able to work with various graphic design and layout software applications commonly used on Mac's and PC's.
• Must have a strong working knowledge of up-to-date versions of Adobe, InDesign, Illustrator and Imposition programs.
• A thorough understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) from different operating systems (Mac and PC) is required.
• Color management skills and the ability to work with different digital file formats are required.
• Must have the ability to continue to learn and use new graphics software on an ongoing basis.
• Must have an understanding of the screen printing and large format digital printing process.
