ISC -Shop Mechanic

Are you a mechanic with a passion for hands-on problem-solving and looking for a role where you can make a real impact?  Interstate Sealant and Concrete is seeking a Mechanic at our Waukesha shop to maintain and repair a wide variety of equipment. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Fleet Asset Manager to ensure that all vehicles and equipment are in peak condition, ready to tackle any job. With opportunities to travel for on-site repairs and to work on everything from diesel engines to hydraulic systems, this is a position where no two days are the same.

As a Shop Mechanic, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of equipment, ensuring no two days are the same. The variety of machinery including:

  • Hot tar kettles
  • Ride saws
  • Pickup trucks up to Class 6 trucks
  • Trailers up to 14K in weight capacity.
  • Diesel air compressors
  • Application pumps

Your ability to maintain and repair this wide array of vehicles and equipment will be crucial in keeping operations running smoothly and on schedule. This diversity of machinery offers ample opportunity to hone your mechanical skills and gain experience across multiple systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Inspect, diagnose, repair, and replace parts on diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

·       Travel to job sites for on-site equipment repairs, typically twice a month during busy seasons.

·       Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment to ensure vehicles are fully operational.

·       Collaborate with the Fleet Asset Manager to keep vehicles and equipment ready for upcoming jobs.

·       Follow and uphold safety standards, including D.O.T., OSHA, and company-specific safety protocols.

·       Complete fleet maintenance reports, order parts, and keep the shop organized and clean.

 

Qualifications:

·       High school diploma or GED.

·       2-3 years of experience in auto, diesel, or heavy-duty fleet maintenance, or equivalent experience in machine shops and with mechanical systems.

·       Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel out of state as needed.

·       Must have your own set of tools.

·       Ability to work long hours and operate in environments with moving mechanical parts and potential exposure to outdoor weather, fumes, and chemicals.

·       Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol tests and a physical.
