Summary
We are seeking a Diesel Technician II to join our team at Interstate Truck and Trailer Repair. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, ensuring that our fleet operates safely and efficiently. Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance assignments related to operations. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining our commitment to quality service.
Responsibilities
- Perform adjustments, and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan Clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel Steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc…
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers.
- Doing preventative maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion.
- Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
- Trouble shoot and repair emission systems using OEM software
- Test drive trucks and buses to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
- Install or repair accessories.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a diesel technician or mechanic, preferably with heavy trucks- 1-3 years.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Experience using tools of trade (including diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Valid Drivers license -Preferred Class A or B but not required

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
