Essential Job Summary
The Scale Operator will be mainly responsible for weighing in and weight out solid waste vehicles from both company drivers and third party vendors/haulers. They will be in charge of receiving payments, checking loads, and ensuring the safety of the landfill and scale at all times .

Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Serve as first point of contact for any drivers, customers, or other traffic at the scale house
- Accurately calculate and process payments, weights and other measurements
- Verify incoming loads do not contain any unnecessary or inappropriate material
- Various administrative tasks including regular filing, data entry and reporting
- Provide general upkeep of the scale house
- Additional duties as assigned.
- This Scale Operator will be based out of North Arlington, NJ.
- Required to use motor coordination such as typing, machine operating , etc. throughout the greater part of the work day
- Daily exposure to physical environment including odors, loud noises, weather elements, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Scale Master Certification
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
- High school/GED education completed, higher education is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse environment experience.
- Experience from the sanitation industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with scales is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of general computer skills.
- Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment
- Consistently capable of working independently to safely analyze and resolve problems.
- Fluency in English required , Spanish bilingual is a plus.
