We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager with a strong background in the trucking industry to oversee and manage the safety and operational aspects of our trucking business. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance, driver safety, and the smooth operation of our fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and enforce safety protocols across all trucking operations.
- Monitor and manage Hours of Service (HOS) compliance for drivers.
- Regularly review and audit Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective maintenance program for all company equipment.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime and ensure fleet reliability.
- Conduct safety training and awareness programs for drivers and staff.
- Investigate incidents or accidents, ensuring proper documentation and corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DOT regulations and ensure company compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the company.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in the trucking industry, preferably in a safety or operations management role.
- In-depth knowledge of HOS regulations, ELD systems, and DOT compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with fleet maintenance programs and scheduling.
- Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, mechanics, and other team members.
