Interstates is seeking a Human Resource Intern to join our HR team. The Human Resource Intern will assist our team to meet the manpower needs of the organization and create an excellent candidate experience for our applicants. They will also help our HR team to execute on current HR initiatives and implementation of company policies. Responsibilities
As an HR Intern, primary duties will focus on:
- Participating in compensation work and running market analysis.
- Collaborate with each specialization of the HR team and assist in delivery of projects and teams.
- Internal Auditing of paperwork.
- Screen Applications and Resumes.
- Document communication with candidates.
- Develop processes for entering candidate data into our Applicant Tracking System
- Be a culture keeper and consultant for teams, coworkers and leaders, fostering teamwork, open communication and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. This will include working with the Recruiting staff to ensure that we meet workforce requirements and recruit top talent nationally.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position will be in our Sioux Center, IA location. No travel is necessary for this position.

Qualifications
- Pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or likewise Business field.
- Must possess great communication (verbal, written, listening) and relationship building skills
- Must be a self-starter with a passion for/interest in Human Resources.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
