What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Conduct financial analysis of consolidated statements.
- Support budgeting & forecasting efforts.
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audits.
- Develop financial models to aid decision-making.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain internal controls.
- Assist with insurance renewals, reporting, and audits.
- Support tax compliance, reporting, and filings.
This role requires discretion, strong analytical skills, and the ability to anticipate project needs.
Knowledge and Expertise for this Role
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of focus
- 2-4 years applicable work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPA preferred

- PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: This position requires strong computer skills, good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work, plan longer-term projects, and deal with stress. Must possess the ability to work cooperatively with others and may be responsible for supervising others and leading Must be a change agent and involved in the development of systems and processes. Must have a basic understanding of internal controls. Must be able to maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality of important issues. Must be capable of handling the work schedule and attendance policies required at Interstates.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write basic correspondence, memos, and reports. Ability to effectively train others, engage in dialogue, present information, and respond to questions from employees, managers, and clients in one-on-one and small group Demonstrates assertiveness in communication. Effectively gives and receives feedback.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, taxes, and percentages
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to solve basic problems, gather data, and make recommendations based on analysis of that data.

- The amount of travel will vary according to business requirements. Up to 15% may be expected.
