Estimator Intern

Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking a Project Estimator Intern to join our Estimating Team for our Sioux Center office. The Project Estimator Intern will be responsible for estimating electrical industrial automation projects. Interstates seeks ambitious, innovative individuals with the ability to grow and maintain value-added relationships with our team and external customers.

 

• Review and analyze bid specifications, bid drawings and all other bid documents to prepare estimates
• Consult with clients and vendors to prepare estimates
• Developing detailed scope of work for proposal documents
• Building complete estimates of project costs using pricing tools
• Responsible for communications and collaboration with internal team members concerning the estimates
• Other duties may be assigned

 

Education and/or Experience:

• Pursuing an Bachelors/Associates Degree in Instrumentation, SCADA, PLC/HMI, Mechatronics, Business, Finance, Construction Management, or other technical degree. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Knowledge of industrial process automation equipment and systems
• Knowledge of electrical systems

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to read CAD drawings and P&IDs
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Possesses sound judgement skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work
