Summary
We are hiring an IT Support Technician to provide on-site IT support for end-users and various IT systems at one of our client’s shipping terminal locations in the Port of Tacoma, WA.
Beyond everyday support for general end-user IT issues, you will have the opportunity to learn and support some unique, industry-specific technologies you won’t find in a typical office environment!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide level 1-2 help desk support for end-user software and hardware related issues - think everyday issues from users regarding passwords, email, Office applications, printers, Wifi, etc.
- Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot various IT systems unique to the environment such as network-connected gate systems, network-connected vehicles, OCR systems, etc.
- Assist remote network and systems teams with physical maintenance and troubleshooting of network equipment and servers.
- Repair/replace faulty IT equipment both indoors and outdoors, in an environment where IT equipment spans multiple buildings and network enclosures.
- Help maintain technical documentation and procedures.
- Track and maintain all local IT inventory and assets.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- 2 years’ experience providing IT support in an enterprise environment.
- Recent CompTIA A , Network or equivalent certifications/education.
- Proficiency with Windows OS, Apple iOS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of common IT devices such as network switches, routers, printers, wireless APs, network cameras, etc.
- Working knowledge of common IT concepts such as DNS, POE, DHCP, IP Subnets, Ping, Traceroute, FTP, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements
- Must be able to safely operate company vehicle while on-site.
- Must be able to climb ladders in order to access IT equipment.
- Must be able to perform infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to participate in occasional on-call rotations or weekend shifts should the need arise.
- Must have or qualify to obtain a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card - https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
