Position Description
Title: Logistics Technician
Department: Logistics
Location: 310 - Carbondale
Immediate Supervisor: Supply Chain Manager
Status: Hourly
Principle Accountabilities
- Verifies items received by inspecting condition of items; comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list; noting any discrepancies.
- Knowledge and practice of all safety procedures in the area.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Operation of required material handling devices and proper handling of materials
- Safely load and unload trailers for receiving and execute related paperwork.
- Receive carrier packages and distribute to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure products or materials shipped meet the required quality standards.
- Perform all shipping related activities ensuring accuracy of shipment to customers. Prepares shipments to include picking, assembling, protecting, and labeling properly.
- Ensure inventory accuracy for products stored in the warehouse. Complete cycle counts timely.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists to move, store, stage and/or load raw materials and products Must be trained and obtain industrial powered truck license before performing duties requiring operation of this equipment.
- Accurately record all shipping and receiving information into the warehouse management system.
- Related tasks as requested by supervisor
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent work experience with basic math, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work with others as a team member and communicate clearly with team members.
- Maintain satisfactory attendance record.
- Ability to understand and work with metric measures and volumes.
- Previous machine operating related experience preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Occasional lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
- Ability to work in high humidity and high temperature environments.
- Must be able to work any shift required, including overtime within the provisions of the union contract. Computer skills required to enter and retrieve information using a warehouse management system.
