What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Specialist - Automated Solutions position at Intertape Polymer Group (IPG)?
Position Purpose: The Business Development Specialist will be the market and application expert for assigned product(s). The Business Development Specialist will actively pursue new business opportunities at both end user and through distribution channel, to meet the budgeted and net CM$ goals.
Principle Accountabilities
- Act as the solution "expert" for the markets and applications of Tishma Machinery.
- Acts as liaison between the plant and the customers through the sales cycle
- Accountable for meeting Revenue and Net CM$ by working with engineering, project management and site leadership team.
- Identifies new opportunities through various channels to bring in more revenue.
- Works with distribution channel as needed in bringing new business and supporting end users
- Once prospects are qualified, manage through sales cycle until close of business.
- Provide guidance and expertise in client meetings regarding implementation and execution, best practices, products and features, partnerships, etc.
- Act as a field feedback loop for product development.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Must have a "hunter" mentality and competitive
- BA or BS Degree from accredited university or
- Minimum 3-5 years business development or sales experience in a related
- Must have experience selling packaging machinery
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must demonstrate strong and consistent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a positive "customer service" mindset - team player. Work independently or in team setting.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must be able to travel by air or vehicle independently.
