Position Description
Title: Cast Line Assistant
Department: PolyAir
Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff
Status: Hourly
Position Purpose: Assists in operating the Cast Line
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:15 AM - 2-2-3, 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule - every other weekend
Pay Range: From $16.38 up to $18.89.
$.25 after 90 days
Night Shift Differential (7PM-7:15AM) $.65 per hr.
*Cross-Training Compensation program is available for employees. *
Principle Accountabilities
- Responsible for the safe, controlled start-up and operation of the cast line equipment including starting the machine, engaging the feed, observing the operation, and assists changeover process.
- Inspects and measures completed pieces to verify conformity to customer production standards.
- Monitors and adjusts controls to ensure product complies with production standards.
- Coaching and mentoring of assistants and helpers by providing clear and precise instructions, if assigned
- Maintains equipment through completion of assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repair techniques as required.
- Records quality and production metrics via written communication methods and within time deadlines, as necessary.
- Performs all work in a safety-first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills.
- Related tasks as requested by supervisor
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- 2 Years in a Manufacturing Environment experience required
- Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
- General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
- Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention.
