Electrical Engineer Specialist

Job Summary
At Intertape Polymer Group (IPG), we are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Research and Development team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development, transition, and integration of new products and process platforms from R&D into production. Your focus will be on electronics, with responsibilities including operating pilot laboratories, assisting in design and fabrication of test equipment, and maintaining laboratory equipment.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with best laboratory practices, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Actively support all safety programs and initiatives.
• Provide day-to-day electrical support for R&D equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain pilot process equipment, including HMI, PLC, and VFD programming.
• Author clear, concise reports, memos, drawings, and work instructions.
• Create, modify, and optimize designs using CAD and simulation software.
• Assess new technology and equipment purchases, making recommendations and executing plans.
• Conduct safety audits and Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
• Utilize project management skills to define, plan, schedule, and control tasks to reach project goals.
• Participate in R&D and multi-disciplinary teams, cross-training, and supporting R&D process technology.
• Provide engineering support in designing application test methods/devices.
