Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide support within the Information Technology department with systems, database and application administration.
Principle Accountabilities
- Design and administrator network infrastructure.
- Deploy and support various server-based operations systems including VMware, vSphere and Microsoft Windows Server.
- Manage and monitor Windows Servers.
- Manage and maintain Remote Desktop Services.
- Assist Applications Administrator with applications that are deployed with RDS.
- Manage and monitor SAN infrastructure.
- Manage and monitor data communication lines.
- Participate in a group testing and develop disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems.
- Provide troubleshooting/support to applications group for network and server performance.
- Interact with technical staff to ensure the safe and proper installation of cabling, wiring and other electrical hardware.
- Provide on-call technical support.
- Provide 3rd level support for trouble tickets.
- Provide skills on new and on-going projects.
- Primary resource for securing networks and server infrastructure.
- Related tasks as requested by supervisor
Essential Skills and Experience
- Prefer Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent with 5 years of related experience.
- Advanced working knowledge of Remote Desktop Services.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server 2019 and 2022.
- Basic understanding of PowerShell scripting and vSphere CLI.
- In-depth knowledge and extensive experience with VMware vSphere.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco CLI.
- Hands-on experience in planning, designing, installing, documenting and troubleshooting server and network infrastructure, including Router/Switch/Firewall/VPN/SDWAN/Wireless infrastructure.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, oral communication skills. Customer service oriented.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with root cause analysis.
- Works independently, as well as, within a team with close attention to details, with minimum supervision.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of tasks.
- Adept at reading, writing and interpreting technical documentation and procedure/manuals.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Willing to learn new technologies quickly.
- Train technical support staff on new technologies and common systems related problems.
- Proficient in Office 365, ADFS/SAML 2.0 and AzureAD.
- Experience with Nessus and resolving vulnerabilities.
- Required to work after normal business hours and weekends to minimally disrupt business as needed.
- Ability to travel required, typical travel is 20-25%.
- Advanced working knowledge of networking fundamentals, routing, VLAN, OSI Model, VoIP and ISCSI preferred.
