Position Description
Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate
Department: PolyAir - IPG Chicago
Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff
Status: Hourly, Non - Exempt
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM
Position Purpose: Ships & Receives Loads
Pay Range: From $17.00 up to $19.00.
*Cross-Training Compensation program is available for employees. *
Principle Accountabilities
- Load and unload trucks and other delivery vehicles
- Perform physical material handling and counting
- Deal with internal mail / packages / item distribution
- Perform internal and carrier systems activity transactions
- Check in carriers and ship release
- Handle and create receipt and shipping documentation
- All duties outlined in Responsibilities of All Plant Employees.
- All other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- 2 Years in a Manufacturing environment / general labor experience preferred.
- Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
- Ability to stand, sit and walk for up to 8-10 hours at a time required
- Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
- General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork, Excel a plus
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention
- Inventory experience preferred
