Position Purpose: The Operator is responsible for the safe & productive running of their line. This is accomplished
with the assistance of other Operators. They ensure that quality products are made in accordance with
specifications in a safe & productive manner.
Principle Accountabilities
- Follows all Safety Rules. Participates in monthly 100% Safety Participation Program.
- Works with maintenance on maintenance issues related to the performance of the line. Performs mechanical adjustments as required. Performs minor PM work as required. Assists with Work Orders.
- Uses forklift & works with Material Handler to move product & supplies.
- Will at times be required to lift & palletize products. Weights could be as high as 60 lbs.
- Maintains pallet counts and raw materials for the line.
- Completes the daily check lists for the line.
- Actively participates and adheres to the IPS process.
- Adheres to & completes quality checklists to make sure there are no flaws in a product
- Works in a team to keep the line running productively while meeting hourly targets. Will run the line alone at times when required.
- Must have basic computer skills or experience with computerized equipment.
- Must have a basic understanding on using measurement tools.
- Ensures housekeeping is maintained for a clean & safe work environment.
- Related tasks as requested by department Lead, Process Lead and/or department Manager.
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills required.
- Ability to work in a self-directed workforce environment.
