Position Description
Title: Warehouse Material Handler
Department: Warehouse
Immediate Supervisor: Warehouse Manager, Blake Burbank
Status: Hourly Mon - Fri
Position Purpose: Safely and efficiently performs duties essential to the operations of the warehouse related to the receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of products, parts, and materials.
Principle Accountabilities
- Verifies materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Routes materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
- Rearranges and takes inventory of stored material as directed.
- Safe and effective operation of any-and-all forklifts to complete daily duties.
- Thoroughly inspect trailers for damage.
- Prepare documents such as bill of ladings or Commercial Invoices.
- Perform data entry in AS400 system and AMMS.
- Record keeping per company's operating procedures.
- Coordinate with LTL carriers for inbound and outbound freight.
- Obtain quotes from carriers as needed.
- Inventory control and cycle counts.
- Supports other department staff as directed.
- Move, consolidate, and inventory, finished goods and raw materials.
- Related tasks as requested by Plant Supervision.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Ability to work in a fast pace, very stressful work environment.
- Ability to operate a forklift to meet production needs.
- Ability to pass forklift operator training test in both written and hands on form.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondences in English.
- Must be team oriented, self-motivated individual.
- Ability to work overtime on weekends as needed.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to frequently move and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office/Word. AS400 knowledge required.
- Working knowledge of FIFO system, maintaining inventory, and cycle counting.
- Prior warehouse/shipping experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as standing on feet for long periods of time, bending from waist, sitting, stooping, reaching above shoulders, reaching straight out, twisting, walking, bending and twisting of the wrists, reading, and hearing.
Pay Wage $18-21 depending on experience
