This job is part time to start and will be full time as office gets busier.
Summary: Performs ultrasound at a highly technical level using independent judgement. Know anatomy necessary for procedures. Can produce proficiency in field and is competent according to their license/registry.
Main Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasound with a highly technical level of imaging
- Uses independent judgement to produce images
- Assumes responsibility for clerical functions, maintaining logbooks, copying tapes, downloading studies from hard drive to disc
- Must keep current on changing imaging needs of ultrasound
- Responsibility completes all duties during the scheduled shift without sacrificing the quality of work, prioritizing as needed
- Effectively responds to changes in workload as necessary, continually uses time in a productive manner – helps other office personnel, cleans machines, work area, stocks machines, orders, and works on special projects
- Always ensures accuracy and completeness of work performed; always gives accurate attention to detail
- Prepares, discusses, and demonstrates testing procedures to patients prior to performing.
- Reviews, calculates, and summarizes results of ultrasound studies for final interpretation by the physician, and will be available to discuss interpretations with the physicians reading the exam
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures in performing job duties
- Consistently demonstrates ability to recognize when equipment is defective
- Always consults with manager when problems requiring their attention occur
- Attends office meetings and in-services
- Always notifies manager of absences and requested time off
- Consistently complies with meal and break time allowances
