Plumbing Inspector - San Diego
Interwest Consulting Group was founded in 2002 and has become a leader in providing municipal services to cities and counties throughout the Western United States. We are seeking experienced and motivated ICC Certified Plumbing Inspector to join our Building and Safety Group. This is an exceptional opportunity to become a key member of our highly qualified, collaborative, and motivated team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
- Review plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Perform Rental Housing inspections in accordance with municipal ordinances and regulations
- Report violations and maintain files/records
- Perform other related duties as required
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Extensive knowledge of local codes and current construction procedures and technology.
- Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
- Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment
- Skill in prioritizing and executing assignments with limited supervision. Skill in using independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Michigan Plumbing Inspector license required
- Experience in municipal code inspections required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
