We are seeking experienced and motivated Senior Planners to provide planning consulting services to our public agency clients. We have current opportunities in both Northern California and Southern California, and we are also establishing a list of potential planners for positions that may become available in the near future. We are accepting applications for both full-time and part-time positions.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Processing development entitlement applications
- Updating zoning code and development standards
- Assisting with or completing planning studies
- Overseeing CEQA review of projects, possibly including preparing IS/MND’s
- Generally supporting local agency planning departments
- Advance/policy planning, state and federal permitting procedures and compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) may all be required.
- Experience working for a city or county planning agency in California (as staff or consultant) with experience processing moderately complex to complex development applications is required.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Can work independently and have strong customer service skills.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects
- Are creative problem-solvers
- Can work on several projects or issues simultaneously
- The ability to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines
Education:
- Graduation from a recognized College or University with a Bachelor’s degree in planning, landscape architecture, public administration, geography, architecture, civil engineering, environmental sciences, or a closely related field and 7 years’ experience with substantial work in California planning agencies.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $112,000
