We are actively recruiting for an Account Manager to join the InterWest team in our Surety Department! This position will provide account management support on an assigned book of business. The Surety Account Manager enhances and solidifies effective client relationships by providing exceptional customer service with focus on client relations, supports the sales process for new and renewal business by aiding Producers, Account Executives, Department Manager, Supervisor, and other Account Managers in issuing bonds, and follows department and agency standards, and upholds our organization’s vision, mission, and guiding principles.
This position can be based in our Chico, Reno, or Sacramento offices.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essentials and responsibilities for the position include the items listed below. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Develop effective client relationships by:
- Maintaining consistent and continuous communication with assigned clients and Producers, including tasks related to new business set up and applications, renewal applications and marketing.
- Providing prompt and courteous service and assistance to clients as needed.
- Apply experienced knowledge and understand the extent and terms of the coverage offered
- Meeting or exceeding the customer service expectations of clients in accordance with Surety standards and workflows.
- Providing needed information and resolving problems for clients.
Perform or assist with account administration by:
- Completing client servicing tasks related to new business set up and applications, indemnities, renewal applications, marketing, and bond research.
- Maintaining current and accurate customer database and files.
- Assisting in account processing, including but not limited to preparing submissions, processing bonds, riders, continuation certificates or verification of coverage as well as indemnity agreements.
- Understanding or determining the reasons for account cancellations or potential cancellations to prevent reoccurrences or missed opportunities to save an account.
- Resolving issues relating to accounting or client billing.
Ensure the accuracy and value of service to clients by:
- Maintaining competency and knowledge of client data including bond information, significant dates and deadlines, and changes to client records.
- Escalating client issues or advising the Producer, Account Executive, Supervisor or Manager of client issues as appropriate.
- Participating in seminars and other training to maintain required skill levels and enhance job and industry knowledge.
Additional Functions:
- Assist Surety Team as directed.
- ·Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the Manager or Supervisor for Surety.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, some college level coursework preferred.
Licensing: Must have and maintain applicable Property and Casualty Broker-Agent License.
Must have and maintain Notary Public appointment
Experience: Often has 3 or more years involving knowledge of or experience in the surety industry, customer service and/or surety bond terminology, surety markets, underwriting procedures, and premium calculations.
The estimated starting compensation range for this full-time position is $47,500 – $65,000 annually, plus benefits.
Compensation for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and geographical location. The hiring range represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
