CLIENT: Sony Music Publishing ROLE / TITLE: Cloud DBA NOTES TO SHARE WITH CANDIDATES Date: 1/23/25 Hiring Manager & Title: Sr. Director, Solutions Architect Contract, CTH, RTH, or Direct Hire: Contract P/T or OT Expectations: 40 hours per week Target Start Date & Duration: Asap start; initial 12-month contract with extensions likely Location: Flex hours, WFH, Travel, etc. Nashville (Hybrid – 3 days a week onsite usually T, W, and Thurs from 9-5 pm – candidates must reside in Nashville area for consideration Why is this position open: They are going through process & digital transformation and that is driving a lot of new development. As a result, they need more analysts to “sure up” their technical documentation and business process documentation. TOP Skills: · 5 years of experience on AWS (AWS Cloud Services Operations like AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)) · Experience optimizing platforms focused on Postgress, Redshift, Dynamo DB · Use SQL for queries, select statements, stored procedures (test in SQL) · Create, maintain, and administer AWS cloud databases in a highly available environment · Experience with deploying using CICD, Gitlab and CloudFormation NOTE: Candidate must have a clear BGC and Drug Screen prior to start date Nice to have / bonus skills: · Strong diagnostic capabilities · Strong communication skills, able to communicate solutions and issues to both IT and non-IT · Self-driven and able to handle projects independently. Job Overview / Scope: · This is part of a 5 year overhall of their royalties and song admin systems that are moving to AWS (and some to Azure). · External facing such as Sony Music Entertainment and Publishing. (used to pitch songs, and producers will use them for licensing purposes or run searches on music, etc.) · They just switched to one-month sprints, with bi-weekly refinement sessions & planning sessions, along with biweekly developer roundtables. (one on ones with developers are handled as needed) · The applications are all royalties related (collections, payouts, tracking, etc.). · Team is focused on cleaning up the cloud space and building out standards for the dev team (trying to follow best practices on methodology). · They are pulling out various modules and re-writing them Cloud Native for the next 5 years.
