integrations with other Azure services. • Administer, tune and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases on Azure to ensure high performance and availability. • Setup backups, restore procedures and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss. • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring timely resolution. • Implement automated failover mechanisms to ensure continuous availability of our database services. • Implement cost saving strategies and optimizations to minimize expenses associated with database infrastructure. • Manage all aspects of database security and adhere to NT’s data protection and data privacy guidelines. • Demonstrate proficiency in defining and automating database administration functions. • Work closely with developers to optimize database schemas, queries and indexes for improved performance. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. • 10+ years of experience as a database administrator with at least 5 years experience administering databases on Azure. Preferred Skills: • Extensive experience with data services on Microsoft Azure cloud platform including databases, Databricks and Synapse. • Expertise in setting up Data Replication, Sharding, Database Security, Encryption, Compression and Data Masking/Redaction for SQL and NoSQL databases. • Proficient in database sizing and migration. • Experience architecting highly available solutions and disaster recovery. • Ability to evaluate, prototype and recommend emerging cloud data technologies and services. • Understanding of the SCRUM agile process. • Financial Services domain knowledge.
