We are hiring a Quality Engineering Manager, hybrid/remote in Des Moines, IA (within 2.5 hours of the city).

The Quality Engineering Manager will support our Engineering and Operations departments by leading and contributing to an engineering team to monitor, investigate, and create actions for Operations equipment, device quality concerns, and device field issues. This team will also continually evaluate and improve the accuracy and completeness of metric dashboards and data reports. Root-cause investigations and data monitoring includes physical hardware such as plastic components and PCBs, and functional behavior driven by the firmware. The position is expected to balance managing a small number of direct reports with actively contributing to data, device, and fixture improvement projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead a team and have personal contributions to:

1. Implement, manage and continuously improve quality management system and product performance dashboards and reports for device field performance. Proactively monitor customer device data reports and metrics to identify concerning trends or phenomena that may drive quality improvement projects.

2. Investigate, analyze and prepare supporting data for the engineering department to prioritize resolution of device field performance concerns.

3. Maintains and monitors ISO/FDA certifications. Builds and monitors quality processes to drive continuous improvement.

4. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues in Operations to determine root cause and work with engineering development and IT teams to implement solutions.

5. Evaluate field complaints to ascertain scope, severity, and pervasiveness and work with engineering and IT to determine root cause.

6. Perform manager duties such as mentoring, clearing barriers, communicating priorities, performance evaluations, and having technical ownership of the team's output.

7. Build relationships in cross-functional teams to streamline processes and optimize collaboration output.

8. Write technical summaries to clearly articulate analyses, options, and recommendations to senior leadership.

9. All other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

5 years:

Experience in leading production quality management and new product introductions into manufacturing.

Experience with developing data queries and dashboards is preferred.

Experience with SQL, Microsoft Access, and Power BI.

Lean Six Sigma green belt or higher certification.

Supervisor or team lead experience.

Preferred: Experience with ISO/FDA or equivalent quality management system.
