This role is essential in optimizing supply chain processes, maintaining accurate inventory records, and reducing waste to enhance overall operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to ensure efficient stock management
- Oversee material tracking, storage, and distribution to support production and operational goals
- Monitor inventory levels, analyze usage trends, and forecast demand to prevent shortages or excess stock
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and production teams to align inventory management with operational needs
- Conduct inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy and compliance with industry standards
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the supply chain
- Utilize MRP/ERP systems to track inventory data, generate reports, and improve material flow efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies related to inventory management
- Five or more years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or logistics (preferably in shipbuilding, aerospace, or manufacturing)
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, supply chain management, and material handling
- Experience with MRP systems
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or Oracle
- Ability to analyze inventory data, forecast demand, and optimize stock levels
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing a team
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Shipbuilding and/or Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry experience
- Experience with MRP, MEP, and PLM integrations
- Experience with agile program management and/or collaborative workshop facilitation
- Familiarity with software tools such as IFS, Cora, Propricer, Workday, Empower, Shipbuilder PLM, or Floorganise
- Experience developing SharePoint landing pages (lower priority)
- Familiarity with LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis tools
