We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Stress Analysis Engineer to perform finite element analysis (FEA) and structural assessments for complex aerospace mechanisms. This role involves detailed stress, modal, thermal, vibration, and fatigue analysis, ensuring aerospace components' structural integrity and reliability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ANSYS, LS-Dyna, and CAD modeling and a strong foundation in aerospace materials and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS to assess structural, modal, thermal, vibration, and shock performance.
- Perform hand calculations to verify FEA results and validate engineering assumptions.
- Utilize NASA standard calculations for flanged joints, crack growth, bolts, static/dynamic loads, and other critical aerospace components.
- Apply GD&T principles and work with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred) to optimize designs.
- Recommend practical design improvements based on analysis results.
- Prepare and present detailed stress analysis reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate daily with engineers on valves, actuators, tubes, pressurized components, and other aerospace hardware.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and engineering tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in stress analysis, preferably within the aerospace or aircraft industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and aerospace materials/treatments.
- Proficiency in ANSYS, LS-Dyna, and CAD modeling tools (Creo preferred).
- Experience with aerospace product data management (EPDM) software.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, high-reward engineering environment with a dynamic and dedicated team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in fatigue and failure analysis for aerospace components.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.
- Experience working with NASA and aerospace industry standards.
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
