Test Engineer

A leading engineering organization is seeking a Test Engineer with hands-on experience designing, building, and operating pneumatic test equipment within laboratory or manufacturing environments — specifically for aircraft pneumatic components and subsystems. This position plays a critical role in supporting production, R&D, and qualification testing across a variety of programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining test equipment functionality, ensuring calibration accuracy, and executing detailed test plans from setup to reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and modify test stands, equipment, and processes using core engineering principles
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop testing strategies for component and system proposals
• Execute complex testing of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Layout and specify test equipment and instrumentation
• Apply knowledge of MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 standards to testing procedures
• Develop test procedures and detailed technical reports
• Support internal test execution and external lab testing (including quote development and lab supervision)
• Configure and calibrate instrumentation for drive testing and other mechanical evaluations
• Assist in creating safe test operating procedures and monitor test execution safety
• Partner with design engineers for test planning, execution, and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate documentation for setup, conformity records, and discrepancy logs
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of test engineering experience
• Proficient in data acquisition programming using LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, or VBA
• Skilled in operating and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, load cells, soldering stations, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with SOLIDWORKS or equivalent CAD software
• Strong background in mechanical/electrical hardware testing and certification
• Familiarity with ASTM, SAE, FMVSS standards and documentation practices
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
