SUMMARY
Intrepid is seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Accounting Analyst to play a crucial role in ensuring the precision of our financial operations. The Accounting Analyst will support the Finance & Accounting department with day-to-day functions in support of the overall business. The primary focus is to ensure timely and accurate accounting transactions including but not limited to Billing, AP/AR, journal entries and payroll. The role will also assist with ongoing financial reporting and audit support throughout the year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: What will you be doing?
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll, ensuring the seamless functioning of our financial gears.
- Actively contribute to building our finance department by identifying and implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
- Analyze financial information in order to identify and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner, preserving the integrity of our financial story.
- Partner with auditors and assist them with any requests.
- Handle sensitive information responsibly and confidentially.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance, extracting meaningful insights to guide our Senior Leadership Team.
- Navigate the complexities of GAAP and FASB to uphold financial standards and keep our operations running smoothly.
COMPETENCIES: What do you bring to the team?
- 1-3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and/or experience will also be considered
- Motivated to manage and drive projects and communicate status proactively.
- Knowledge of GAAP and FASB.
- A customer-service mindset that lends itself to managing difficult or customer situations; responding promptly to customer needs.
- Written and oral communication to collaborate effectively with teammates and resolve issues smoothly.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Uses good judgement to prioritize and plans work and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Flexible and adaptable to the unique needs of a growing startup and willing to help build an amazing company in a scalable way.
