Senior Gameplay Engineer

Intrepid Studios’ Ashes of Creation team is looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Gameplay Engineer to join us, here in beautiful southern California. This role will report to the Lead Engineer and support our engineering team by creating, debugging and maintaining game systems within Unreal Engine 5! This is a great opportunity to unleash your creativity and partner with talented game veterans to craft a unique MMORPG that helps bring people together.

What you will accomplish:
• Collaborate with engineers to create, debug, and maintain game systems using Unreal Engine 5.
• Work alongside the other senior engineers and the networking team to assure performance at large scales.
• Mentor engineers and junior engineers in their development efforts.
• Create and document complex systems in a clear manner, including technical design documents and code reference documentation.

What you bring to the team:
• A minimum of 5 years of working on multiplayer games, using Unreal Engine & at least 1 shipped multiplayer title.
• Strong knowledge of the Unreal actor model, including replication and the actor lifecycle
• Strong C knowledge
• Strong knowledge of highly distributed multi-server systems
• Experience profiling and optimizing applications for bandwidth and CPU usage
• Experience with version control such as Perforce
• A positive, collaborative, and self-motivated mindset that works well with other developers
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to guide and mentor engineers in their efforts
• Ability to articulate (both in written and verbal methods) complex processes in a clear manner
• Ability to work cross-discipline with design, art, and production teammates
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related equivalent experience

• Experience with AAA game development
• A Passion for making and playing MMO games
• Familiarity with Ashes of Creation
• A portfolio that demonstrates a keen eye for detail and the ability to create maintainable, high-quality code

The Legal Bits:

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $125,000 - $187,500, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.

Salary : $125,000 - $187,500
