Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant supports the Plant Controller in managing the month-end close, operational analytics reporting, and regulatory compliance functions in an accurate, consistent, and timely (ACT) manner. This role is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing accounting/finance, offering opportunities to enhance financial accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and drive operational efficiency. Seeking a highly motivated individual with enthusiasm and a strong willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Complete financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Analyze financial data to aid in budgeting and forecasting.
- Monitor inventory controls and product costing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
- Assist with ERP system data management and financial reporting enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Performance Metrics:
- Timeliness and accuracy of financial reports.
- Effective implementation of internal controls.
- Contribution to process improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Compliance with financial and regulatory standards.
Additional Duties:
- Work closely with production and engineering teams on product costing analytics.
- Identify inventory areas for improvement and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Support initiatives to optimize financial and operational workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field – required.
- Comfortable with presenting financial insights to senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) and cost accounting principles.
- Dependable, ethical, and results driven.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
