This role will also involve partnering with our Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to create compelling narratives that come alive through various channels, includingMarketing, Sales, partner channels, and more, with the goal of driving acquisition and platform adoption. We are seeking a Principal Product Marketing Manager to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Sales, and Product to enhance the MC platform's positioning and messaging. What you'll bring
- Extensive experience in product marketing: 10 years in product marketing, in particular leading messaging strategy development and cross-functional alignment and execution.
- Proven leadership skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and drive consensus.
- Strong analytical and research skills: Proficient in conducting market research, analyzing data, and drawing actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills: Ability to craft compelling narratives and communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Deep understanding of the SaaS and marketing technology landscape: Familiarity with the latest trends and challenges in the SaaS and marketing technology space.
- Passion for customer-centricity: A strong commitment to understanding customer needs and delivering exceptional experiences.
- Identify the ideal customer profile and personas. Experience partnering with Research, Sales, Product and Marketing stakeholders to establish and/or refine the ideal customer profiles and personas, including but not limited to opportunity size, willingness to pay, feature preference, unmet need significance, etc.
- Messaging research, strategy development and testing: Lead platform-level research to assess market trends and competitive dynamics, develop and articulate a clear, differentiated messaging strategy for the Mailchimp Platform, and collaborate with channel owners to test and optimize these messages based on empirical insights and team feedback.
- Gather robust social proof: Partner with the social proof team members to ensure we have the right evidence, such as claims, rates, review site badges, accolades, case studies, etc., to support the messaging strategy. This evidence includes, but is not limited to, claims, customer names, quotes, case studies, and accolades and badges from third-party rating and review sites.
- GTM Strategy and Execution: Provide strategic guidance across channels (e.g., web, thought leadership, events, lifecycle, enablement) and GTM execution for major efforts including global advertising campaigns, flagship event programming, and .com redesigns to drive new customer acquisition and platform adoption.
- Ensure feedback loop and messaging refinements: Extract key learnings from global campaign and individual channel execution, assess the effectiveness of messaging, and translate insights into opportunities for optimization.
