Position Summary
We seek an experienced Construction Safety Consultant to support our client’s large civil projects. This on-call consulting role focuses on ensuring safety compliance and best practices at construction sites. You will collaborate with Engineering and Safety staff and be responsible for safety inspections, training, incident investigations, and contractor compliance monitoring.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Local to Seattle (no relocation or per diem)
- 15 years of experience in construction safety
- CHST or CSP certification preferred
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, WISHA/DOSH, and local regulations
- Proactive communicator with strong report-writing skills
- Flexible to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site safety inspections during active construction operations
- Identify and address unsafe conditions or behaviors
- Provide daily/weekly written reports to Engineering Construction Safety staff
- Deliver inspection reports via Contract Management System (CMS) within 24 hours
- Participate in weekly toolbox talks and contractor meetings
- Lead safety training sessions, including OSHA 10-hour and new contractor orientation
- Investigate jobsite incidents and submit formal reports
- Track safety trends and contractor performance data
- Monitor regulatory and specific safety compliance
- Review contractor safety plans and submit written evaluations
- Support public safety interface during construction activities
- Facilitate Construction Safety Committee meetings
