Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The primary objective for this role is to assemble a variety of tissue products, meeting quality, efficiency, and productivity goals, within a manufacturing/lab environment. As a Tissue Technician II, the technician would be able to inspect and identify possible defects in highly variable biologic material and assess usability, based on a proficient understanding of end user interaction with the products. Level II Technicians are expected to gain mastery of more complex finished good assemblies and begin to cross-train into high-range difficulty assemblies as well as to take an active role in Continuous Improvement initiatives and exemplify Intuitive Individual Expectations. This person would work closely with fellow team members and the supervisor to achieve individual and team performance goals.

Base Salary Range Region 1:$50,500 - $68,300
Base Salary Range Region 2: $42,900 - $58,100

Job Description

Essential Job Duties
- Assemble a variety of tissue products according to standard instructions and prints.
- Operate and set up (as needed) production supplies/equipment.
- Collection of supplies.
- Handle materials in accordance with procedures and prevent mix-ups, damage, or other adverse effects.
- Learn to inspect raw tissue for usability.
- Communicate Inspection Results to appropriate personnel.
- Work with Engineering to improve assembly and manufacturing methods.
- Maintain proficiency with using the Time Tracker program.
- Become proficient at multiple assembly tasks while meeting requirements for workmanship, safety, and productivity.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the following skills: suturing, use of proper surgical instruments, surgical knot tying, proper use of adhesives.
- Good understanding of basic anatomy
- Perform inspection of own’s work and other’s work. Perform simple repairs on own or other’s work.
- Mentor others in areas of expertise (as needed).
- Initiate basic material requests, report quality issues, report efficiency, record measurements as needed.
- Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety and production policies and procedures.
- Maintain an excellent attendance record.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum experience: Certification to 4 assemblies or processes or comparable experience equivalent to 1 year.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as sewing and cutting, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to use clocks, timers, tools, calculators, and rulers.
- Ability to work in a controlled environment (i.e., clean room), this includes wearing scrubs, and slip-resistant shoes as well as meeting other room standards.
- Ability to use on-line documentation.
- Ability to use computers as part of daily work.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to use on-line documentation.
- Must have ability to complete training courses (online and in-person). Ability to work in a team environment.
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Perform quality checks on their own and team members’ work.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, supervisors, or engineers.
