inTulsa is one of the Programs within Experience Tulsa, a portfolio of programs and teams working to showcase the unique past, present, and exciting future of Tulsa in an inclusive, high-touch, and comprehensive manner to assist in generating vibrant growth. We do this through speaking loudly and proudly about all that Tulsa has to offer while offering meaningful community-building opportunities for newcomers and long-time Tulsans, alike. In addition to inTulsa, the other programs under the Experience Tulsa umbrella include Tulsa Remote, Tulsa Service Year, and Campus Tulsa, and are all economic development initiatives supported by the George Kaiser Family Foundation. Over the next few years, we hope to support other key community partners in building up Tulsa to be the most welcoming place for newcomers, while increasing social capital, community-building, and networking opportunities for all Tulsans.


Position Purpose

The Candidate Readiness Advisor plays a key role in supporting the development and success of candidates throughout their professional journey. This individual will assist in planning and executing a variety of readiness events, including workshops, networking sessions, and training programs, tailored to meet the unique needs of candidates at different career stages. The Advisor will facilitate engaging events, lead discussions, and deliver presentations while also providing personalized one-on-one guidance to help candidates achieve their career goals. Working closely with the Candidate Readiness Manager, they will contribute to the creation and refinement of content, ensuring that all materials remain relevant to industry trends and skill demands. The Advisor will track candidate engagement, analyze progress metrics, and use feedback to continuously improve programs. Additionally, they will foster relationships with external organizations, mentors, and speakers to enhance event quality and expand resources. This role requires a dynamic, proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about empowering candidates to succeed in their careers.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

  • Facilitation & Leadership: Take an active role in facilitating readiness events, including leading discussions, delivering presentations, moderating panels, and supporting breakout sessions. Foster a dynamic and engaging environment where candidates can share insights, ask questions, and collaborate with peers.
  • Content Development & Customization: Collaborate with the candidate readiness manager to develop and continually refine the content for meetings, workshops, training sessions, and other candidate resources. Ensure that all materials are up-to-date, impactful, and tailored to the specific needs of candidates at varying stages of their careers.
  • Engagement & Progress Tracking: Monitor and track candidate engagement during readiness events, providing reports on attendance, participation, and feedback. Analyze progress metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and identify areas for improvement, making data-driven recommendations to enhance future initiatives.
  • Event Planning & Coordination: Assist in the comprehensive planning, organization, and execution of a variety of candidate readiness events, such as workshops, networking sessions, training programs, and career development initiatives. Ensure that all events are scheduled, well-organized, and aligned with candidate needs and organizational goals.
  • Industry Awareness & Program Relevance: Stay informed about current market trends, hiring practices, and evolving skill demands within key industries. Ensure that readiness programs reflect the latest developments and remain relevant to the needs of candidates, adapting content and structure to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
  • Personalized Candidate Support: Offer one-on-one guidance to candidates, providing tailored advice on career goals, job search strategies, and professional development. Address individual concerns and challenges during and after readiness events, helping candidates navigate their unique career journeys.
  • External Partnerships & Resource Enhancement: Build and nurture relationships with external organizations, mentors, and industry speakers to enhance the quality, diversity, and relevance of readiness events. Actively seek out partnerships that bring valuable insights, networking opportunities, and resources to candidates.
  • Program Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Participate in the analysis and reporting of readiness program success, utilizing feedback from candidates and other stakeholders to recommend actionable improvements. Collaborate with the team to refine future events and initiatives, ensuring continuous program enhancement based on data and insights.
  • Ad Hoc Support & Collaboration: Support the broader team with any additional tasks, projects, or special initiatives as required. Take on responsibilities as needed to ensure the overall success and smooth operation of readiness programs.


Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, communications or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered

2 years of experience in training, workforce development, event coordination and similar roles

Experience in facilitating or supporting professional development programs is highly desirable

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and executing events

Physical requirements

  • Ability to work at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Availability to attend and facilitate in-person or virtual events and meetings as required.
  • Minimal physical demands beyond standard office work requirements.
  • Ability to help set up and tear down events.

 

Hours and Location

  • This is a hybrid position based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • We have in-person mandatory team meetings on Wednesdays.
  • A typical work week is Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 
  • There will be events outside of traditional office hours that this role will be required to attend and work
