Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategy for metadata management across the organization.
- Ensure proper classification, tagging, and documentation of data assets for transparency and accessibility.
- Maintain and update metadata standards and best practices to ensure consistency.
- Oversee the creation and management of metadata repositories aligned with business and regulatory needs.
- Lead the development of an enterprise-wide data catalog to enhance data discovery and access.
- Work with stakeholders to catalog key data assets and ensure they are easily retrievable.
- Promote the adoption of data cataloging and metadata-driven tools and technologies.
- Design, implement, and manage data governance policies and procedures focused on metadata and data cataloging.
- Establish and track data governance metrics, KPIs, and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with data stewards, business analysts, and IT teams to ensure adherence to data governance standards.
- Educate teams on data governance policies and data stewardship responsibilities.
- Work with data management teams to identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Partner with IT to integrate metadata management and data cataloging tools into the data infrastructure.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align on data governance priorities.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, tools, and trends in data governance and metadata management.
- Recommend improvements to data governance processes and technologies.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors for data governance solutions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or related field (Master s degree is a plus).
Experience:
- 10 years of experience in data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing enterprise-level data governance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with metadata management platforms and data catalog tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, Informatica).
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, data architecture, data quality, and regulatory requirements.
Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise in metadata management and data cataloging frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of data governance best practices, data privacy, and data security.
- Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance).
